Janelle's Juke Joint
About Me
My name is Janelle Denson, but my family and close friends usually call me Nellie. I was born in Marin and grew up here all of my life. I attended a private school in Mill Valley for eight years which was K-8th. I now attend Redwood High School in Marin as a Senior, graduating in 2008. I spent all four years there, but it all went by so quickly, it felt like less. As you will see on the next few pages, I enjoy to write poetry, but more than anything, I love to dance! I've been dancing since the age of five. My dance training started with classical ballet and while growing up in my art, it caused for some change in my technique. Over the years I was exposed to different types of dance along the way, such as, modern, West African, Salsa/Flamenco, jazz, and hip-hop. In the fall, I will hopefully be attending California Institue for the Arts (CalArts) in Los Angeles, California. Major in Dance to be a choreographer in hip-hop and modern and minor in communication.
I created this website because I applied to be a "Webstar." Webstars are students and/or young adults that are trained to learn about computers so then they can help others in their community. We do tutorials occasionally with those who know very little about computer technology. Besides helping others, we increase our own knowledge by doing online and outdoor projects and working with different computer programs. Being a webstar has really benefited me in school, etc. I've taken everything I've learned and actually used it. This job is easy, enjoyable, and efficient.
